…and the Lone Sailor!

The Lone Sailor is the other statue we find at Riverfront Park in the Greater Charleston Memorial Park. This classic pose hits home to many that have served in the military. “Hurry up and Wait” comes to my mind when I see it and on the windy day I took this pic, a little jealousy regarding his warm jacket. There are 12 replica statues found around the country honoring those that have served in the sea services of the United States. I’ll give credit to Petty Officer 1st Class Dan Maloney for serving as the model inspiration for artist Stanley Bleifeld.
