Navy Yard’s busy social calendar

March 19, 2007

The week of March 12th saw a series of events taking place around the Navy Yard. Aside from the Travel Council meeting on Tuesday, two more events took place at 10 Storehouse Row last week: the American College of the Building Arts’ Welcome Party for artisans featured during their Master of the Building Arts Festival, and the Middle School Show for students at the School of the Arts (see photo below).

Also last week, South Carolina STRONG, a replication of the successful Delancey Street Foundation, held an open house at the first of three homes they will be renovating within the Officers Housing/Chicora Gardens area of the Navy Yard. Their progress is remarkable so far! With each home that they rehabilitate, they will be able to expand their South Carolina program to more residents. They have been working on Buildings Y and Z for over six months, and will begin work on Quarters G next.
