The demolition of several of the buildings near the Cosgrove/McMillan/Spruill Avenue intersection marks progress at the Navy Yard! The old warehouses stood where the Powerhouse Basins will in the future — construction on the large-scale stormwater lakes is anticipated to begin in early 2008.

By the way, those old warehouses? All of the steel from those structures (i.e., 95% of the building material) is being recycled, so they’re not totally gone!
