The Leaning Trees of Noisette Boulevard

leaningtreesThis photo looks south from the area of the Noisette Creek. Ever wonder why the trees along Noisette Boulevard lean toward the river?
Palmer Olliff, Navy Yard historian, tells ust that during Hurricane Hugo in September 1989 the ground was so extremely saturated that the wind tipped the trees. Since that time the tops have grown straight up again.
