Palmer Olliff worked at the Navy Yard for more than 48 years. He earned numerous Navy recognitions for his superb service. He is the unofficial historian of the Shipyard. Not long ago he received the State’s highest award, the Order of the Palmetto. Palmer was a member of the Greater Charleston Navy Base Memorial Committee. Happy Birthday Palmer.

Can anyone put me in contact with Mr. Olliff. I am researching the names of the dorms on the part of the old Navy Base where the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center is located. The dorms have been torn down and a new dorm is being built there. I am trying to get a memorial approved to recognize the Medal of Honor recipients for whom the original dorms were named. Thanks in advance for your help.
