Between 8 and 9 Storehouse Row

The below black and white pic was taken in 1939 at the Navy Yard.  At the time, these buildings were known simply as Building 4 and Building 8.  Today we refer to them as 8 and 9 Storehouse Row.  The little building in the front foreground was the police station.

The picture below was taken today.  The connecting structure in the 1939 photo has since been removed along with the police station.  I now see a blank canvas and a vision for these two historical buildings to be restored and serve a commercial and/or a residential purpose here at the Navy Yard at Noisette.
