Navy Yard at Noisette Enters 2011

The Navy Yard at Noisette recently released its 2010 year in review (if you missed it, you can find it here) and is looking forward to 2011 and what it will bring. The journey began in 2001 with the launch of the Noisette Master Plan and materialized when land acquisition began in 2003. The Navy Yard is a thriving economic engine supporting the region that will continue to progress regardless of the outcome of the contested State Rail Plan.

Below are some responses to questions we have received.

• Regarding the size of the Navy Yard at Noisette – The Navy Yard is still appx 340 acres per the Navy Yard at Noisette CC & R’s (Covenants Conditions and Restrictions). Any new owner inside the Navy Yard footprint has a responsibility to abide by the CC & R’s just like any other property owner at the Navy Yard. Currently, there are over 15 individual property owners inside the Navy Yard footprint. (It has never been the Noisette Company’s intention to own all or retain control of all the land)

• Regarding the Navy Yard at Noisette Community and Business District Association – The Navy Yard at Noisette Community and Business District Association oversees this footprint. It is still appx 340 acres. There is a Design Review Board similar to any neighborhood homeowners association, so any development must meet the standards outlined in these documents.

• Regarding the Noisette Company’s land holdings – The total acreage that the Noisette Company or subsidiary companies owns has changed but it has been changing every year since the first phase of the property was transferred circa 2003. It’s never been the Noisette Company’s intention to own all the land. The goal was and still is to encourage additional outside development, ownership and investment keeping with the triple bottom line philosophy. In addition to property management and leasing activities of Noisette commercial properties at the Navy Yard, properties deemed ready for development are actively being marketed.
